Did September just completely fly by for anyone else? It was a very busy month but I was able to get in quite a bit of reading including one that I was highly anticipating (the new Lucy Score) and a five-star read I didn't see coming.
Here's everything I read in September:

Read # 2 - September 2023:

Read # 1 - June 2023:

I’m currently on a country music kick so this tracks. I’m so excited for this series, I’ve heard it only gets better from here!😋

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 | 🌶🌶
Hands down my favourite in the series! Sloane and Lucian's banter was so fun and I loved seeing glimpses into their past to learn why they "hated" one another so much. Catching up with Knox, Naomi, Nash, and Lina was also a treat and just proves again why I love interconnected standalones so much.
I 100% could've read this in one sitting and wish I did cause I think I would've enjoyed it that much more (urgh responsibilities and stuff).

Caaaaaddddeeeeee 😮💨
I knew I would enjoy the second (this one) in the series more than the first. I know the characters, the world, etc. but I didn’t think I’d enjoy Cade as much as I did. He was grumpy and serious but rightfully so? I’m typically opposed to books with young kids that have major roles in the plot but I really loved Luke. He served his purpose without getting annoying (yay).
I’m not a fan of the pregnancy trope so that was a hard pass for me but Harvey’s declaration of Cade’s … “preferences” made me laugh.
It also irked me how often Cade (38) brought up how old Willa (25) was. As someone who’s always been told “oh you’re such a baby” it made me roll my eyes. We get it, she’s younger than you! NEXT!

⭐️⭐️
I'm a bit skeptical about love at first sight but the idea of this was cute. Not a fan of the miscommunication trope and the major conflict would've been avoided with a simple conversation which Robert was trying to do but Victoria wouldn’t have it. Victoria was kind of an ass and I really didn't like her. Not my favourite Quinn but fed my historical romance craving.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was cute. Just a simple little historical romance.

Holy shit …
This was not at all what I was expecting and that’s what I loved so much about it. The books I tend to read can get very copy + paste & predictable (which is part of their charm & why they give me comfort) but wow, this wasn’t that at all. I read it in one night & god was it fun. I was left at 3am silently screaming & shouting which is just the best feeling.
Sure there were some minor flags & it wasn’t 100% perfect (what is) but the experience gets an A++ from me!

This was … a lot? One (or two) too many plot twists for my liking that by the end I was literally left thinking “what the actual heck just happened!?”.
October is looking to be a promising reading month for me. I have an extra long Thanksgiving weekend and many books on my TBR that are being published this month. My hopes are high and I'm mentally preparing for some long nights of reading.
