Lex's Picks: Sephora's Fall Sale 2020

I’m going to be honest with you… If I can, I only shop at Sephora during their semi-annual sales. I’m uber-organized (and like to shop on a budget). I make lists of products that I love and keep track of how much I have left to ensure that come sale time, I know if I need to stock up on any of my favourites! Like I said in my previous blog, the sale is also the perfect opportunity to try out some items that you’ve been eyeing but just can’t justify spending money on! While there are only a few days left of the sale, I thought I would share the goodies that I’m picking up to maybe inspire you to try a new product or possibly remind you to grab something you may have forgotten!

Skincare

2020 has been the year of skincare for me! Given the amount of time I’ve spent at home, and now that I’m back at work wearing a mask all the time, there’s no need for any makeup! I’ve really honed in on a few products that I find work best for my sensitive and acne-prone skin that I plan on stocking up on!

My skincare routine has really simplified as I’ve found items that actually work for my skin. The Clinique iD Custom Blend Hydrator Collection in Hydrating Jelly + Cartridge for Irritation has become a staple in my mornings, especially days that I have to go to work. This lightweight gel is perfect for all over the face as it’s very light on the skin and doesn’t make me oily. I pair this with the OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème to brighten up my under eyes, hydrate them, and prevent any early signs of aging. Finally, for any pesky spots caused by my mask or hormones, the Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel has been a saviour! This is the spot treatment that I’ve noticed makes drastic changes in the size and intensity of my spots in a short period of time!

I have fallen in love with the smell of the Sol de Janeiro Brazillian Bum Bum Cream so I’m planning to pick the Sol de Janeiro Brazillian Touch Hand Cream for some much-needed moisturization during the coming cold, winter months.

Lip care

Lip care is another area that has received a lot of my attention over the last few months. While I have yet to find a lip balm that I can wear under a mask, I’m always up to trying out new products to find my favourite!

Laneige has really impressed me with their lip care collection. Every night I use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry. It has a gorgeous scent that nourishes and hydrates your lips leaving them refreshed in the morning. Another favourite of mine is the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Berry. This one is perfect for the day and with its applicator, safe to use out in public as opposed to your finger. It adds a light flush to your natural lip colour.

While I haven’t actually tried this product, I have heard incredible things from Canadian beauty vlogger, Jamie Paige about the Lano 101 Ointment Multi-Balm Minty. She was experiencing very dry lips and this fixed the problem! I love mint flavoured lip balms so I’m excited to give this one a try!

Beauty

The only makeup product that I have been wearing since the start of the pandemic is something on my brows. Whether it be just clear brow gel or I lightly draw in some brow hairs, my brows have not been forgotten. There’s currently a gift set with one of my favourite brow products on sale.
