Taking Some Time Off

Have you ever had something so close to your grasp you can quite literally almost touch it? Well, that's how I'm feeling right now with my degree.
As many of you know, I'm coming to the end of my time at university. It's exciting and stressful and even a bit nerve-racking at the thought of what's to come. It's funny, I've been counting down the days until I finish my program and now that that time is almost here, there is this lack of knowledge of what I'll be doing with my time in the very near future. If I'm honest, I'm feeling a bit scared.
Many of the people I went to high school with ('98 babies) that I'm friends with on Facebook have been updating their status over the last few weeks regarding their futures. Some are off to do their master's, others have already found a job in their field, and some are just excited to finally be able to breathe again after enduring *starts doing mental math to figure out how many years we've been in school* eighteen years of schooling. It's crazy to think how a group of people that were clumped together in high school for the same amount of years that we've now been apart are off doing their own things at their own times.
I plan on speaking about my time in university in a coming blog post once I've actually received my degree. I'm going to need to have that piece of paper in my hands in order to believe that I've actually got it.
This summer marks my final semester of my Communication Studies degree at York University. Over the last month and a bit, I've been completing two classes that will continue until the middle of August, and starting this week, my third and final class of my undergrad begins. As I'm completing my final three courses, I've decided to take a break from LITC and focus on my classes. It's not because I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to handle everything because I think I'd be able to just fine, however, I want to enjoy my final weeks of my undergrad. I'm going to give it my all and then come back to LITC with a whole new burst of inspiration and a whole degree.
It's so close. I'm almost there.
In the meantime, I wish you all the best until I return (with my degree, but you knew that already)! Wear a mask (it's not a political statement), be kind, and enjoy everything the summer has to offer. I can't wait to get back to my blog in August.
Until then,
xx Lex
